in memory
such a coincidence that i posted on 'inna lillah' in my last entry and a few days later i got a call from the mother of my tuition student in the wee hours..
she: fia, ni cik zaiton, mak ruhul amin.
me: (very groggy tone) ah ye cik..
she: (very sad tone and sobbing) fia, pak cik dah takde fia..
me: inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.. bila cik?
she: tadi malam pukul 11.30pm.
me: (trying to comfort) ok bersabar cik..
it's always a tragic turn when someone passes away.. especially if you know or even once had a conversation with that person. i've been giving tuition to her children since early this year and i have seen for myself how the family had coped with the dying father who was diagnosed with cancer. the father was once a fit and healthy man when i saw his family photos on the walls, cancer has really made him shrink half the size, left him with the remaining days to survive. alhamdulillah they got a chance to visit mekkah a few months back when they knew it would be anytime soon that he will have his last breath.
i can see the mother has been struggling, with more struggle to come.. sometimes needed a crying shoulder whenever i came over. she used to ask me questions on how to cope with things.. it's very saddening to know that her husband has left her to feed the family alone. her children are still young, and i am praying that everyone in the family will have the strength to go through this very hard phase.
Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmatNya keatas rohnya and kurniakan kecekalan hati keatas ahli keluarganya. Amin.
